Mandatory Certifications for Importing
Find out which certifications your product needs before importing. ANVISA, INMETRO, IBAMA, MAPA and more.
Importing products into Brazil is subject to several mandatory certifications depending on the nature of the product. This checklist brings together the main certifications required by Brazilian regulatory agencies such as ANVISA, INMETRO, MAPA and IBAMA. Each product category has specific requirements that must be met before shipment or at customs clearance. Ignoring these requirements can result in cargo seizure, fines and even import bans. We recommend checking in advance which certifications apply to your product and starting the process while still negotiating with the supplier. Many certificates require lab testing that can take 30 to 90 days.
